“The first sign of greatness is when a man does not attempt to look and act great. Before you can call yourself a man at all, Kipling assures us, you must "not look too good nor talk too wise.”

What keeps me going on this quest of speaking on TED Talks? Napoleon Hill, Timothy Ferriss, Tony Robbins, David McCandless and so much more became my inspiration and virtual mentors on my #roadtoTED and also to keep up on my personal Key Performance Indicators(KPIs).

When TED released this contest, one of my colleague tagged me on the post and some of my friends messaged me too about the contest. I'm ecstatic. I began thinking how can I make it to this contest. I'm thinking for sure lots amazing ideas, designs, inventions will be submitted. I have created studies with data too that I can submit but I thought of something bigger.

I reflected on what is really my agenda? What is the best idea to be shared in this world which is timely and will raise awareness to people.

Well the issue that I want to raise awareness through this talk is the "weak generation" we are creating.

Weak Generation - Why did I said this? Many of the millennial generation give up easily, I witnessed it on my talks, on applicants I interviewed and the news I watch, the articles I read too. Not just in the Philippines, in Asia, but globally. I believe, and it's important for us to address this issue. Because addressing this issue will generate more and greater ideas from our millennial generation.

We all start weak, nobody started strong.

This endeavor of #roadtoTEDtalks had helped me a lot to become who I am today. I have conducted talks in different universities and organizations which became a part of my KPI. How about you? Are you still "green" on your metric? Are you amber which needs a boost or some motivation, or are you "red" which needs massive inspiration to jump into green? Well we all have our own share of suffering, some are worst, some are mild but we all suffer at some level. The question is, what do we do about it?

How can we measure it?

For me I started journaling and measuring my improvement year-on-year and I began more strict and measuring it from a Y-O-Y to a smaller range to M-O-M, sometimes measuring weeks of improvement.

Yes, it will make you face your fear when you do this, because on measuring KPIs you have to measure "mistakes" and "failures" too. You need great courage and faith to (1)face it, (2)acknowledge it and (3)act on it.

Major Items I monitor:

Statistics of Self improvement (year-on-year)Fear Mitigation (month-on-month)Dream Implementation (year-on-year)Influence others to be great (year-on-year)

People asks why didn't you discuss something about aircrafts? or analytics? or something more intellectual?

Well for me, many people can discuss intellectual topics any given day -- but we need to have dramatic increase on the statistics of people who would want to stand and fight to raise awareness on making our generation stronger.
Stronger Generation - Stronger Ideas

I have lots of ideas on this and I hope TED will give me a chance to discuss it.

I started my #roadtoTEDTalks last 2016, the goal changed me as a person because of the experiences I had, the audience I presented to, the people I want to influence, the people I can save (the issues on weak generation( suicides, hikikomori, etc)). This journey opened a lot of opportunities for me to improve that I want to share to everyone.

So I'll be discussing Human KPIs: In this talk I will discuss the framework I did using lean six sigma -- to measure it and continuously improve it. (I'll be discussing more of this -- stay tuned!)

I hope and pray that all, and I mean all of the people I spoke to are taking my success and failure as an inspiration. We build our own life and success, success is being the best we can be and serving our purpose. We might have different strategies in order to get there, but I am sure that we will see each other if we start today.

“We never know which lives we influence, or when, or why.” ―   Stephen King

If everyone will be aware of their capability to make the world a better place, I think nobody will experience adversities in this world. It’ll be a joyful place.

I hope next time I can share that TED Talks already invited me and that will be a dream come true.

This goal didn’t just inspired me, it inspired all the people I presented my talks, it inspired their inner souls to be the best they can be and to make the world a better place.

"One talk at a time."
"One article at a time."
"One story at a time."
