Either you're an agent of change, or you're destined to become a victim of change. You simply can't survive over the long term if you insist on standing still.
-Norm Brodsky

Last year I attended "The 8th Six Sigma and Process Improvement Conference 2017" together with my colleagues in Philippine Airlines. There I watched Ms. Norelyn T. Barbiera speak, I admired her from the beginning. She's talking a lot about being change agents to make our country The Philippines a better place. Little did I know that she is not just the Vice President of Fiera de Manila Inc. but more of an Influencer and a Motivator. She started gathering all the experts in different industries with the goal of sharing expertise across to make Filipino Companies improve more and later a brighter Philippines and later a better world.

All the speakers I watched are really great and I admired all of them. They're all passionate in sharing their knowledge and skills to help other people. That's why being part of this Conference is a great blessing for me. An opportunity to share what I know and to inspire other people too. That you can be the change you want, you just need to stand up and walk the talk. One of the important people in my life always asks me this:

When is the last time you did something for the first time?

Speaking in a diverse group of CEOs, VPs and Organization Heads from different industries makes me raise the bar for myself. But I know I can do all things because we are created by a great God to do great works! I just want that someday people will not ask me "Why did you give up on your dream?" instead, "How did you made it happen?" It's funny how this dream led me to lots of different people, diverse group of people that became my mentors, eye opener, contributor to my knowledge, friend, motivator and inspiration.

I will never forget this experience. It made me believe more that large scale of change and improvement is possible. We can do it. I will never stop being a #changeagent and #impactengineer . Our world is in dire need of change and improvement, everything is changing fast we need to catch up fast too. The Conference Introduction says it clearly:

The 9th Six Sigma and Process Improvement Conference 2018

Introduction

Speed and the ability to adapt to changing market conditions are today’s challenges of every business. The emergence of new technologies and innovation are disrupting traditional and existing markets.

Some businesses have disappeared and start-ups no longer have major barriers to entry. Business models are being disrupted causing massive pressure on margins – Robotics, AI, Big Data, Machine Learning are just some of the big disruptors.

Indeed, the landscape of competition has shifted and changed as digital environment made every processes, market dynamics, and behavior agile, flexible, measurable, and customer-centric.

Creating value to customers is a game changer for sustainability. At the heart of every business, customer-centricity is the foremost mindset.

As process owners and transformational leaders embarked on a powerful continuous improvement strategy, Six Sigma combined with other methodologies and tools are vital in re-tooling skill sets of workforce, building human capacities, and engaging them in the culture of innovation and work excellence.

The conference will help business leaders, owners and professionals cope with the ever changing market shifts and dynamics through data-driven decision-making and innovative thinking.

- Fiera de Manila Inc.

Thinking that this is the 9th run of this conference made me so ecstatic that people are really changing and raising the bars to change. They'be been doing this today is the 9th time. I'm praying for all those people who attended this conference from the first and to the upcoming events to be serious in this movement. Movement of making our world a better place. :)

You reading this, don't ever ever give up on your dream. Do not give up on what you want. Go out there and just do it. Inspire other people, be passionate, be humble, and be grateful in everything that you will receive during your pursuit. Our dream is a beautiful journey.

Don't be negative.

Accept the opportunity and do your best to share not to impress.

I hope next time I can share that TED Talks already invited me and that will be a dream come true.

This goal didn’t just inspired me, it inspired all the people I presented my talks, it inspired their inner souls to be the best they can be and to make the world a better place.

"One talk at a time"
